Election surveys may be
conducted during the election period – Comelec

OROQUIETA CITY, Misamis
Occidental, Jan. 31 (PIA) -- Any person, whether natural or juridical,
candidate or organization may conduct an election survey, during the election
period, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) said.
These surveys shall be
published and shall include the following information:the name of the person,
candidate, party, or organization that commissioned or paid for the survey and
the name of the person, polling firm or survey organization who conducted the
survey.
It should also include
the period during which the survey was conducted, the methodology used, the
number of individual respondents, the areas from which they were selected and
the specific questions asked.
The survey should also
show its margin of error and a mailing address and telephone number, indicating
it as an address or telephone number at which the sponsor can be contacted to
obtain a written report regarding the survey.
On the other hand, the
survey together with the raw data gathered to support its
conclusions shall be
available for inspection, copying and verification by the Comelec.
Meanwhile, the Comelec
said exit polls as long as the pollster shall not conduct their surveys within
50 meters from the polling place, whether said survey is taken in a home,
dwelling place and other places.
They should also wear
distinctive clothing and prominently wear their identification cards issued by
the organization they represent and inform the voters that they may refuse to
answer.
Moreover, the results of
the exit polls may be announced after the closing of the polls on election day,
must identify the total number of respondents and the places where they were
taken and that announcement shall state that the same is unofficial and does

Pag-IBIG Citi prepaid
cards are now available for MPL Borrowers
CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Jan
31 -- Pag-IBIG Fund members applying for the Multi-Purpose Loan (MPL) may now
choose to have their loan proceeds automatically credited to their Pag-IBIG
Citi prepaid card, starting February 1.
Upon submission of the
MPL application, the applicant will be required to register and secure the
Pag-IBIG Citi Prepaid Card at the Pag-IBIG Fund Cagayan de Oro Branch
Short-Term Loan Counter at Window Number 1.
Only qualified MPL
member borrowers may avail of the Pag-IBIG Citi Prepaid Card at a minimum rate
of seventy five pesos (P75.00), which can be deducted from the proceeds of the
said loan.
The Pag-IBIG Citi
Prepaid Card is an auto debit card which can be used for purchases at any Visa
accredited stores.
Meanwhile, member
borrowers, may also choose to have their MPL proceeds credited to their Land

PRO-10 hosts first RJSCC
Coordinating Conference
CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Jan
31 -- Senior officers from Police Regional Officer (PRO)-10 and the Philippine
Army’s 1st and 4th Infantry Divisions attended the Regional Joint Security
Control Center (RJSCC) coordinating conference 9 a.m. of January 29, at the
Multipurpose hall of Camp Alagar, Cagayan de Oro City.
The meeting was presided
by Atty. Nilo R. Pipo who has recently taken the post as the new Election
Director in Northern Mindanao. He is at the same time Chairman of RJSCC.
Atty. Pipo said the
purpose of the JSCC is to have unified efforts among members of the security
forces so that the coming elections will be peaceful and security for our
people to exercise their rights to vote without intimidation, force, pressure,
or any violent act which vitiates their free will.
Pursuant to COMELEC
Resolution No. 9571, the PNP and AFP are deputized to assist COMELEC in its
security preparations for the elections.
RJSCC is an organization
in the region which shall be responsible for the issuance of temporary security
details (TSDs) and the implementation of the ban on the bearing, carrying or
transporting of firearms and the employment, availment or engagement of
security personnel in the region. Provincial JSCCs are likewise organized in
the provinces headed by Provincial Election Supervisors.
During the meeting, the
operations officers of PRO-10, 1st ID and 4th ID PA presented the security
updates of their respective areas of jurisdiction, as well as the actions they
have undertaken in implementing COMELEC issuances.
Present during the
meeting were Maj. Gen. Ricardo Rainier G. Cruz III, Commander of 1st ID; Maj.
Gen. Nestor A. Añonuevo, Commander of 4ID; PCSupt. Catalino B. Rodriguez, Jr,
PRO-10 Regional Director; and all other police provincial and city directors,
army battalion commanders and election officers of the different provinces in

UMPEA Farmers
Multi-Purpose Cooperative signs MOA for membership activation in Pag-IBIG Fund
CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Jan
31 -- Today, the UMPEA Farmers Multi-Purpose Cooperative will ink a Memorandum
of Agreement with Pag-IBIG Fund for the activation of their membership and
payment of monthly savings under the Cagayan de Oro Branch.
Pag-IBIG Fund Cagayan de
Oro Branch’s Department Manager Ferdinand F. Sanielwill sign the MOA with UMPEA
Farmers MPC Chairman Antonio R. Orpio, along with the officers from both the
Fund and the said cooperative.
The MOA signing will
take place at the Training Room of the Pag-IBIG Fund Cagayan de Oro Branch on
January 31, 2013.
On the same day, an
additional highlight to the occasion is the UMPEA Farmer MPC’s official
turnover of payment covering the initial membership savings of their employees
and members to Pag-IBIG Fund. In turn, the UMPEA Farmer MPC will receive their
first Pag-IBIG Fund Receipt, as proof of payment.
The UMPEA Farmers MPC is
a duly organized cooperative whose main services include the trading of rice,
corn and other farm to market products. The said cooperative recently has
invested into Realty Business.
The cooperative is
composed of currently employed members, as well as self-employed individuals
(i.e. vendors). Their main office is located at Balong/Indutan, Kakuntalan,
Maguindanao. In Cagayan de Oro City, their sub-office is located at the 4th
Floor Ficco Building, Matilde Neri Sts., Carmen.
Republic Act 9679 also
known as the Home Development Mutual Fund Law requires all Filipino workers
earning at least One Thousand Pesos (P1,000.00) monthly to actively save in
Pag-IBIG Fund. The said law applies to all self-employed including the members
