New LTO-10 director vows to continue predecessor’s reform programs
By Apipa P. Bagumbaran
CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Nov. 9 (PIA) -- The new
director of the Land Transportation Office (LTO) in Northern Mindanao vowed to
continue the reform programs initiated by his predecessor.
Director Hilarion E. Ulep gave this assurance during the turnover ceremony of duties and responsibilities held at the MVIS Area of the LTO Regional Office yesterday, November 8.
The new director said he will carry on with the implementation of the reforms particularly on the fight against illegal registration using fake receipts.
He warned those people involved in the issuance of fake receipts saying he will not tolerate such illegal acts under his helm.
Ulep further said he will also continue to discipline members of the LTO-10 to further improve public service.
The LTO-10 has pursued various reforms during the stewardship of outgoing director Atty. Esteban M. Baltazar, Jr.
"We have launched an intensified campaign against illegal registration using fake receipts because we do not want our people to be deceived and the government to be deprived of revenues," Baltazar said.
He further cited that LTO-10 employees have attained a certain degree of discipline because of the reform programs.
They now report on time and attend flag-raising ceremony, he noted.
In his acceptance message, Ulep also told members of the press who witnessed the turnover that his office will be open to media for scrutiny. (APB/PIA-10)
